The country will experience a gas shortage in the next three days (June 14-16) due
to a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal, which has impeded LNG delivery.
Titas Gas Transmission and Distribution released a press statement in this regard.
The
ships carrying imported gas remained trapped in the sea due to the weather
depression, according to the statement.
The
gas pressure would be so low, according to Titas Managing Director Ali Iqbal Md
Nurullah, that just 400 million cubic feet of LNG would be sent to the
distribution line instead of the usual 800 million cubic feet.
As
a result, starting June 14, gas delivery for residential, industrial, power,
and commercial applications would be affected for three days.
