Nearly 4 Lakh Govt Jobs Lying Vacant

Although there are 18 lakh 85 thousand 868 posts under different ministries, directorates, and departments of the government, so far 3 lakh 80 thousand 955 posts are vacant. Most of the vacancies are at the field level.

This information has been revealed in the publication of the book 'Statistics of Civil Officers and Staffs-2020' on the statistics of the officers and employees of the Ministry of Public Administration on Tuesday (June 15).

According to the concerned people, it is important to recruit manpower in the vacant posts of the government to boost the economic sector and eliminate unemployment during the Coronavirus pandemic. A large number of posts have remained vacant year after year. If there is any complication in manpower recruitment, it is necessary to find a solution.

According to the book 'Statistics of Civil Officers and Staffs-2020', there are 46,603 vacancies in the first class, 39,028 vacancies in the second class, 1,95,902 vacancies in the third class and 99,422 vacancies in the fourth class.

There are 5,068 vacancies out of 17,739 posts at the ministry and divisional level, and 2, 33,336 vacancies out of 14, 9,626 posts at the agency and departmental level. There are 14,851 posts in the offices of Divisional Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner, Upazila Nirbahi Officer and Assistant Commissioner (Land), the total number of posts here is 47,033.

Till last December, out of 4, 11,470 posts in the autonomous organizations and corporations, 1, 27,700 posts were vacant.
