Security Guard's Body Recovered from Moghbazar Blast Site's Rubble

The body of Md Harunur Rashid, 70, a security guard of the building destroyed in the blast at the wireless gate of Moghbazar, has been recovered.

Firefighters recovered his body from the debris of a back room of the building on Tuesday (June 29th) afternoon.

Russell Sikder, duty officer of the fire service control room, confirmed the matter to the media.

“One of our teams recovered another body from the scene,” he said. The body is being sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

Hena Begum, daughter of the deceased security guard, said her father Harunur Rashid had been working as a security guard for the building for the last three years. He lived in a small room on the ground floor of the building. His village home is Barisal.

She said the last conversation with his father was on the phone around 5:30 pm on the day of the incident. Then his mobile was switched off, no trace was found.

After receiving Henna's complaint, the fire service started searching Harun's house inside the building. The body was found under the rubble of the building.
