1.7 Lakh Schools to Be Connected with High-Speed Internet by 2030: Palak

State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak has said 1,70,000 primary and secondary schools in the country will be connected with fiber optical high-speed internet connectivity within 2030.

“A total of 1,70,000 primary and secondary schools in the country will be connected with fiber optical high-speed internet connectivity by 2030. The campaign will be implemented under the Digital Connectivity Project”, he said, reports BSS.

The state minister was speaking virtually while inaugurating a ‘Girls in Tech Day Bangladesh 2021’ program organized by the Asia and the Pacific Regional Office of the International Telecommunication Union today.

He said that in order to ensure that no one lags behind in technology, various activities have been undertaken including ‘Girls in ICT Programme’, ‘Job Opportunity’ and ‘Empowerment’.

International Telecommunication’s Asia for Pacific Regional Director Union Atsuko Okuda and Asia and Pacific Alliance for Internet World Wide Foundation Regional Head Anju Mandal also spoke, among others, at the programme.
