9 Instructions Must Be Followed in Mosques

The Cabinet Division has issued directives imposing restrictions from July 1. In the current context of the country, the Ministry of Religious Affairs has imposed some restrictions on religious institutions of all religions and congregational prayers in mosques.

Conditions:

  1. Soap-water with hand sanitizer / hand washing system should be kept at the entrance of the mosque and incoming worshipers must come to the mosque after wearing masks.
  2. Everyone should perform ablution from their home, perform Sunnah prayers at home and come to the mosque and wash their hands with soap for at least 20 seconds while performing ablution.
  3. Carpets cannot be laid in the mosque. Before the five daily prayers, the entire mosque has to be cleaned with disinfectant, each of the worshipers has to bring the Jainamaz on his own responsibility.
  4. Social distance must be ensured when standing for congregational prayers.
  5. Children, the elderly, any sick persons and persons engaged in the service of the sick shall refrain from participating in the congregation.
  6. Soap/hand sanitizer should be kept in the ablution room of the mosque to prevent infection. Jainamaz and hats reserved in the mosque cannot be used.
  7. To ensure public safety, the guidelines of the Cabinet Division, Health Services Division, local administration and law enforcement agencies must be followed.
  8. Khatibs, Imams and worshipers will offer prayers at the court of the Almighty after the prayers to be saved from the coronavirus pandemic.
  9. Honorable Khatib, Imam and Mosque Management Committee will ensure the implementation of the issues.

When entering all other religious institutions/places of worship, wear a mask, washing hands with hand sanitizer/soap and follow social and physical distances according to the hygiene rules.

In case of violation of the above instructions, the local administration and law enforcement agencies will take legal action against the responsible persons.
