Weeklong restrictions have been imposed as the Coronavirus infections
are on the rise across the country at an alarming rate.
Meanwhile, the Mirpur Division of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police has
detained more than a hundred people for coming to see how the 'lockdown' is
going on in the Mirpur area of the capital,
ignoring the fear of death. Besides, they have brought half a hundred vehicles
under the case.
Mirpur Division Deputy Commissioner of Police (DC) ASM Mahtab Uddin
confirmed the matter. He said law enforcement was working in the field to
enforce government restrictions starting at 6am on Thursday.
From Thursday morning till 12 noon, Mirpur, Gabtali, Technical, Shah Ali
Mazar area, Pallabi, Mirpur, Kafrul and other police arrested more than 100
people and filed cases against more than 50 vehicles. A mobile police operation
is still going on in Mirpur led by two magistrates.
Meanwhile, industries, banks, capital markets and courts are open in
compliance with hygiene rules.
The RAB-police as well as the armed forces and the BGB are on the
streets to ensure that no one can roam around outside in violation of the
restrictions. Check posts have been set up at the corners of the different roads.
