The High Court (HC) today suggested that the compensation
suit be filed after the bodies of the victims of the Shezan Juice factory fire
are identified.
"Let's start with identifying the bodies. Then go to
court with the compensation petition. The court's doors are always open ",
the court stated in its ruling.
"This is a truly tragic occurrence. We're keeping an
eye on it."
On Sunday, a High Court bench led by Justice M Enayetur
Rahim issued the ruling.
The court also ordered the concerned authorities to create a
list to ensure proper treatment of the injured.
The court described the fire at the Shezan Juice business as
a regrettable event and extended its condolences.
The HC remarked to the lawyers who submitted the incident to the court, "We, too, are concerned about the fire that claimed the lives of 52 people. In this case, a case has already been filed, and the accused have been arrested. The government has also provided some funds to the victims. As a result, the HC is not issuing any compensation orders at this time."
