Qurbani Haat (the market for sacrificial animals) will launch on July 17 at Dhaka South City Corporation. And this market will continue till July 21.

Earlier, a press release issued by the Dhaka South City Corporation's public relations department on Friday (July 9th) said three cattle markets had been canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic in the country.

These three animal markets are- 1. Vacant space adjacent to Little Friends Club and vacant space around Biswaroad adjacent to Kamalapur Stadium. 2. Empty space around Amulia Model Town. 3 Vacant space adjacent to Shampur Kadamtali bus stand.

The property division of the Dhaka South City Corporation has issued a lease notice inviting tenders for three stages of 13 temporary cattle markets in the corporation area. At the end of the first and second rounds of tenders, 10 temporary cattle markets were leased. Considering the Coronavirus situation, at the end of the third phase of the tender, it was decided not to lease any more Qurbani haats.

Animals can be bought and sold at these markets for a total of five days including Eid-ul-Azha. Agreements are being finalized with ten temporary cattle markets leaseholders subject to compliance with health and other conditions.
