The
government is going to ease existing restrictions for eight days beginning
Thursday, in order to accommodate cattle traders and shopping mall owners ahead
of Eid-ul-Azha.
For these
reasons, limitations on public transportation and shopping centers will be relaxed
from July 15 to 22, but a new round of strict lockdown will begin on July 23 in
order to contain a recent rise in coronavirus deaths and infections.
On Tuesday,
a gazette notice will be published in this regard.
The
continuing restrictions will be eased from July 15 to July 22, according to a
statement from the Press Information Department (PID). “From July 23, a new
period of strict lockdown will be imposed, with a gazette notification to be
published on Tuesday,” it stated.
The
administration is loosening the restriction at a time when the country's
coronavirus situation is deteriorating. On Monday, 220 people died as a result
of Covid-19, and 13,768 new infections were discovered.
