Youth Arrested for Raping Teenager in Chattogram

Police have arrested a 22-year-old man named Md Jahangir Alam for raping a teenager in Chattogram.

He was arrested on Monday (July 12th) night from the Agrabad CDA residential area of ​​the city. The arrested Md Jahangir Alam is the son of Wahid of Mohanpur village under Chandina police station in Comilla district.

According to the police, Jahangir edited the picture of the girl and made a nude picture, and raped her as frightening her of spreading the picture. After trying to rape her twice more, the girl defended herself by sprinkling pepper powder in the eyes of the accused.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Double Mooring Police Station Mohammad Mohsin said the victim was a 14-year-old girl. A ninth-grader at a local school. Jahangir often annoyed the victim and wanted to talk. But Victim didn't care. One day when no one was there, Jahangir came to his house. When the victim tried to shout, Jahangir showed her some nude pictures.

‘‘Jahangir originally made this nude photo by editing Victim's picture. The 14-year-old girl was raped for fear of spreading these pictures on social media,’’ said OC Mohsin.

He added that the victim switched off his mobile phone immediately after the incident. But she did not tell anyone about the incident for fear of public embarrassment. A few days later, Jahangir came again. But as soon as she saw him coming to the house, the victim sprinkled pepper powder in her eyes and defended herself like that day. Then Jahangir came once more. Victim defends himself by sprinkling chili powder in the same manner. Jahangir tried to injure the girl in another way as he could not get close for fear of pepper powder. He was arrested after calling 999 today.

OC Mohsin said the victim's mother had filed a case against Jahangir under the Women and Child Abuse Prevention Act.
