Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Dr Benazir Ahmed has
directed the law enforcers to perform their duties properly on the roads and
highways to ensure safe journey of homebound people ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha.
The IGP gave the instructions to the Metropolitan Police Commissioner,
Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and district police superintendents at a
virtual meeting this afternoon.
He asked the police officers not to stop the sacrificial
animals carrying vehicles without any specific information or complaint. The
IGP also requested to set up cattle markets in compliance with hygiene rules to
prevent coronavirus infection, reports BSS.
He directed to increase police patrolling and beat policing activities
to prevent crimes including theft and robbery during Eid holidays.
