Govt May Extend Lockdown with ‘Stricter’ than Before

The coronavirus situation of the country is becoming more alarming day by day. In the last 24 hours, the highest number of 247 deaths and 15,192 deaths have been reported in the country, according to the Health Department. In such a situation, in addition to increasing the ongoing strict lockdown in the country, a decision would be taken to implement it more strictly.

A high-level meeting of the government is going to be held on Tuesday (July 26). After the cabinet meeting on Monday (July 26th), Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam told reporters that the meeting would be chaired by the home minister on Tuesday afternoon.

"We will have a meeting tomorrow," he said. A big meeting will be held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of the Home Minister on Tuesday at 1.30 pm.

After tomorrow's meeting, it will be decided whether to implement the lockdown more strictly and whether it will increase further, said Cabinet Secretary Khandaker Anwarul Islam.

He said that these (coronavirus) cannot be controlled by increasing the number of hospital beds and doctors. See countries in Europe, Spain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Germany. Germany also fell helplessly.

Anwarul Islam said, see Mecca-Medina, Authority does not allow anyone to come within 3 feet inside Medina. Have you noticed in Makkah, whether on praying or circumambulating, what kind of discipline people are following. That is why Saudi Arabia has been able to control the outbreak.

However, the Minister of Health, State Minister for Information and Communication, Chiefs of the three Armed Forces, Senior Secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Health, Inspector General of Police, Director General of BGB, Secretary of Election Commission, Director General of Bangladesh Coast Guard have been invited to take part in the meeting.

It is to be noted that strict lockdown has been started from July 23 to control the coronavirus infection. The lockdown will last until midnight on August 5.
