Inland master officer and steersman of Birshreshtha Jahangir ferry have been sacked in the incident of hitting the 10th pillar of Padma Bridge, reports media.
Master Delwar Islam and steersman Abul Kalam Azad were dismissed on Tuesday noon as per an order of the Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation (BIWTC).
The ferry hit the bridge on Monday evening on its way to Munshiganj's Shimulia ghat from Madaripur's Banglabazar ghat.
Earlier on July 23, a passenger ferry named Shahjalal hit the 17th pillar of the bridge after the helmsman lost control over the steering.
