Govt Backtracks from Mass Vaccination Campaign

Health Minister Zahid Maleque on Monday said the government has backtracked from the mass Covid-19 vaccination campaign in the country, reports media.  

“When vaccine doses arrive, everyone has to register online to get their jabs,” he told the journalists after a cabinet meeting.

The country will get 60 lakh doses of Pfizer vaccine by September, the minister said.

“In addition, 10 lakh shots would arrive via the World Health Organization.”

Zahid expressed his hope to vaccinate 7 to 8 crore people by next January-February.
