Mentioning that
there is a manpower crisis in the hospitals across the country, the problem
will be solved by recruiting 4,500 more doctors very soon, said the Director
General of the Health Directorate Dr ABM Khurshid Alam.
He made the
remarks while inspecting the district's 250-bed General Hospital in Kurigram on
Sunday (August 29) and exchanging views with district health officials at the
Civil Surgeon's Office.
"The
collection and availability of vaccines does not depend on our will," he
told reporters. International politics depends on it. Subject to vaccination,
we will bring everyone in the country under vaccination coverage as soon as
possible.
He also said
that the corruption of Kurigram General Hospital will be eradicated by bringing
the culprits under the law.
Earlier, he visited
Rajarhat Upazila Health Complex in the morning. Rangpur Mohakhali Health
Department Director Dr Mizanur Rahman, Rangpur Divisional Director Dr Motaharul
Islam, Dhaka Director Dr Nazmul Islam, Kurigram Civil Surgeon Dr Habibur
Rahman, General Hospital Supervisor Dr Shahidullah Lincoln, Kurigram Sadar
Upazila Health and Family Planning Officer Dr Nazrul Islam, BMA Kurigram
District Branch Health officials including Uddin and General Secretary Dr Lokman
Hakim were present there.
