Sheikh Sohail Rana, a Banani police inspector (investigation) who
is a patron of the e-commerce company E-orange and accused of embezzling money
from customers, has been arrested near the Indo-Nepal border.
On Friday, he was reportedly arrested by members of the Indian
Border Security Force (BSF) at the Changrabandha border in West Bengal's
Kochbihar district.
An Indian media reported on Saturday (Sept 4) that BSF detained a
Bangladeshi named Sohail Rana from the Changrabandha border in Kochbihar
district on Friday on charges of entering India illegally.
However, the BSF has not officially informed Bangladesh about this
so far.
Sohail Rana is accused of stealing crores of taka from e-orange
consumers. Since e-orange consumers held a protest demanding delivery of goods
or reimbursements, he has been hiding. He eventually left the country.
