On the occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's birthday, 75
lakh doses of vaccine will be given on Tuesday (September 28) through a special
campaign across the country. Director General of the Health Directorate (DGHS)
Dr Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam said that people over the age of 25 will
get the vaccine on this day.
However, for this they have to be registered beforehand and
get a text message on their mobile phone. He said that priority will be given
to women in their forties, women and the disabled.
On Monday (September 27), the statement of the Director-General of the Health Directorate was shared live on the Facebook page of
the Directorate.
Dr Abul Basar Mohammad Khurshid Alam said they have set a
target of giving 75 lakh vaccines through a special campaign tomorrow on the
occasion of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's 75th birthday. Apart from this,
another five lakh vaccines will be given tomorrow under the regular vaccination
program. Only the first dose of vaccine will be given in special campaigns.
Those who take the first dose tomorrow will be given the second dose on October
28. Everyone must bring their national identity card and vaccination card to
get vaccinated. Breastfeeding mothers and pregnant women will not be covered by
the vaccine, he said.
The special campaign on Tuesday will have a center in any one
ward of each union council. Inoculation will be given at one booth in each ward
of the municipality and at three booths in each ward of the city corporation.
The Director General of Health Directorate said that booths can be reduced and
increased locally. Vaccination activities will start from 9 am.
