Another
case has been filed against Evaly CEO Mohammad Rassel and his wife, Evaly
Chairperson Shamima Nasrin, for allegedly failing to deliver a product on time.
According
to media sources, eight people were also charged in the complaint filed by
Alamgir Hossain Regan, a lawyer, with the court of Dhaka Metropolitan
Magistrate Begum Mahmuda Akter on Monday.
The
case was taken into consideration by the court, and Khilgaon police were
directed to investigate and report their findings.
According
to the plaintiff, on May 1, he ordered a motorcycle through the e-commerce
platform's "Cyclone deal" and paid Tk70,999 via the Nagad app on May
3.
Despite
the fact that Evaly's policy states that products will be delivered between
seven to 45 days, he did not receive the motorcycle after 149 days, prompting
the lawyer to pursue legal action.
On
September 16, Rassel and Nasrin were detained in a separate case when Evaly was
accused of fraud and embezzlement following the company's inability to deliver
products.
In
two charges filed with Gulshan police, the pair has already spent several days
in police remand. Since the controversy began, they have been accused in a
number of cases across the country.
The
Commerce Ministry had petitioned the Home Ministry earlier this month to pursue
legal action against Evaly for breaking the law and manipulating customers.
