7 Missing as Trawler Capsizes in Turag River

Seven people went missing as a trawler capsized in the Turag River in the capital's Aminbazar area. Three divers of the fire service have started work to rescue the missing.

The accident took place on Saturday (October 9) morning.

Confirming the matter, Lima Khanam, duty officer at the fire service headquarters, said the news of the trawler sinking was received around 8.50 am today. Immediately, three divers of the fire service were sent to the Turag river in Aminbazar. Work is underway to rescue the missing. However, we have not been able to rescue anyone yet.

The trawler had 18 passengers, according to fire service sources.
