Medical Student Dies in Quicksand of Jamuna River

A student of Dinajpur Medical College died after slipping into a quicksand near the Jamuna River's bank in Bagura on Saturday.

Md Mosabbir Hossain alias Fine, a 22-year-old second-year student, had a morning boat excursion on the river. As he got down in the swallow waters at the riverbank near Prem Jamunar Ghat area in Sariakandi upazila, he stepped into the quicksand.

Officer-in-Charge of Sariakandi police station Mizanur Rahman said Mosabbir was rescued from the quicksand by locals and rushed to Upazila Health Complex, where doctors found him dead, reports UNB. 

His body was handed over to the family members and a case of unnatural death was filed in this regard, said OC Mizanur.
