RAB Director General and DMP Commissioner Got Promoted

Director General (DG) of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Chowdhury Abdullah Al-Mamun and Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Mohammad Shafiqul Islam have been promoted to Grade-1 posts.

The promotion was given in a circular signed by Dhananjay Kumar Das, deputy secretary of the police-1 branch of the public security division of the home ministry, on Monday (October 18th) by order of the president.

As per the circular, two Supernumerary posts of Grade-I in the BCS (Police) cadre (subject to termination if vacated due to retirement, removal or any other reason) are temporarily sanctioned in the Revenue Department as opposed to the post of Additional Inspector General of Police Grade-II.
