Bangladesh Lowers Age Limit for Covid-19 to 18 Years

The age limit for vaccine registration has been further reduced to prevent coronavirus infection. From now on, anyone at the age of 18 and over can register on surokkha website or app and get vaccinated.

On Wednesday (October 20) noon, Shamsul Haque, the spokesman of the Department of Health and the director of the vaccination program confirmed the matter. 

He said the registration process for those aged 18 and over has been launched on the security website since Tuesday (October 19th) evening. From now on, anyone under the age of 18 can register and get the corona vaccine.

Those interested in getting the corona vaccine have to register on the surokkha website (www.surokkha.gov.bd). Registration can also be done by downloading the security mobile app from Android or Apple Play Store. This requires a national identity card and information on name, address, age, occupation, physical condition, phone number, etc.

There you have to give the type of your profession, national identity card number, and date of birth after choosing the profession. They must be at least 18 years old to register.

On Tuesday (October 19) the Director of the Department of Health (MIS and Line Director HIS and e-Health) Prof. Dr. Mizanur Rahman said the number of corona vaccine registrants across the country, including the capital, has crossed 5 and a half crore. Among them 5 crore 42 lakh 57 thousand 215 people registered through national identity card and 6 lakh 7 thousand 461 people through passport, said a press release.
