Rumor-Mongering Facebook Pages and Group Admins Identified

A vested quarter is deliberately spreading misleading, provocative and false information on social media with the aim of destroying communal harmony. Another clique is spreading these contents motivated by their own interests. However, the admins of the Facebook pages and groups from which such false information or content is being spread have been identified.

In addition, those who are giving likes and shares in these posts have also been identified. The RAB is conducting operations against them.

Commander Khandaker Al Moin, director of the RAB's legal and media wing, made the remarks at a briefing at the RAB headquarters in the capital's Kurmitola on Wednesday (October 20th).

He said those who are involved in spreading such rumors will be brought under the law regardless of their class of people. The home minister said on Tuesday (October 19th) that an operation was underway to arrest the main accused in the Cumilla incident. He is running away. Along with other law enforcement agencies, RAB is also conducting operations to arrest him.
