In a case filed under the Digital Security Act (DSA), a
Dhaka court issued arrest warrants for journalist Kanak Sarwar and Major (retd)
Delwar Hossain.
Judge Ash Sams Jaglul Hossain of the Bangladesh Cyber
Tribunal issued the order on Tuesday (November 2) after adopting the charge
sheet filed in the case.
The court also set November 22 as the deadline for
submitting a report on the order's execution.
Nazrul Islam Shamim, the case's state counsel, confirmed the
information.
Kanak and Delwar are accused of distributing false,
defamatory, inciting, and motivated material on several prominent personalities
and institutions in the country using digital channels, according to the case.
The complaint was registered against them at Shahbagh police
station last year, and the charge sheet was recently filed by Sub-Inspector
Russel Mollah, who is also the investigative officer.
