take effect after 12 noon on Wednesday.
On the same day, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral

The price of fuel oil is rising in the international
market, the press release said. Due to this rise, neighboring countries around
the world are regularly adjusting the price of fuel oil. On November 1, the
price of diesel in India was tk 124.41 or Rs 101.58 per liter. However, the price
of diesel in Bangladesh is tk 65 rupees per liter, which is Rs 59.41 less per

Petroleum Corporation is incurring a loss of around Tk 20 crore per day as it
sells diesel at tk 13.01 per liter and Furnace Oil at tk 6.21 per liter. As of
October 2021, Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation has supplied various grades of
petroleum products at current prices, resulting in a total loss of Tk 728.61
crore.
Considering the overall situation, the government has
only increased the price of diesel and kerosene from tk 65 per liter to tk 80
per liter at the consumer level. All other matters including the notification
issued by the Department of Energy and Mineral Resources on 22 December 2008
and the amendments issued in this regard will remain unchanged.
