The
management committee constituted by the High Court has sealed off four warehouses
in Savar of Evaly, a popular e-commerce company.
A
five-member committee headed by former Appellate Division Judge HM Samsuddin
Chowdhury Manik visited the rented warehouse at Savar's Aminbazar on Monday
(November 8th) at noon to see first-hand the company's liabilities and assets.
At
the time, the warehouse had a number of televisions, soft drinks and
electronics.
The
committee members were informed that a lot of valuables were removed from the
warehouse after the RAB arrested the CEO and Managing Director of Evaly,
Mohammad Russel and Chairman Shamima Nasrin on September 16.
The
new steering committee formed by the High Court is working intensively to
protect the interests of deceived customers and merchants. Those who invested
money here have been severely damaged.
The
head of the committee said, "We are trying to make arrangements to return
the affected people as much as possible, protecting their interests. The
committee is monitoring how much debt can be paid with those resources. "
At
the time, Mahbub Kabir Milon, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Railways,
who was the Managing Director (MD) of Evaly Management, and former Secretary
Md. Rezaul Ahsan, Chartered Accountant Fakhruddin Ahmed and Supreme Court
Lawyer Shamim Aziz were present there.
