The seating service and waybill system on public transport in the capital have been shut down from Sunday (November 14). The mobile court of Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) has taken to the field to stop irregularities in the name of seating service.

BRTA Director (Enforcement) Sarwar Alam said this morning that eight of them and two mobile courts of the district administration are working in different parts of Dhaka to restore order on the roads.

He added that the seating service will ensure that no one takes extra fare in the name of Gate lock. Our priority is that no one can take an extra fare. We are holding even if we fare more than one taka. Besides, the executive magistrates are also looking into any other problem.

Earlier, it was decided at a meeting of the owners' association that the seating service and waybill system would not run any public transport in the capital. The three-day deadline set by the Transport Owners Association ended on Saturday (November 13). As such, seating service and waybill system in public transport have been shut down from today. This information has been known from the sources of Transport Owners Association.

On the other hand, the fare list and fuel utilization stickers have not been affixed to the public transports of the capital yet. So the suffering of extra rent has not yet been cut.
