Saidpur Airport Authority Suspends Flights after Plane's Tyre Bursts while Landing

Flight operations at Saidpur airport in Nilphamari have been halted since 7 pm, after a Novoair plane (VQ-967) experienced a tyre burst while landing.

After the plane crashed landed on the runway, the plane was grounded at the airport.

According to airport sources, the Novoair flight left Dhaka around 6.50 p.m. on Wednesday. The jet going for Syedpur had 69 passengers on board.

During the landing, however, Novoair's front wheel burst, and the plane came to a halt on the runway. There were no recorded casualties.

"The passengers are safe and they have departed the airport," Syedpur Airport Station Manager Suplab Kumar Ghosh confirmed the event.

He assured the reporters that work is ongoing to reopen the closed runway as soon as possible.
