Man Killed in Jashore Pre-Polls Violence

A man was killed and five others were injured in a clash between supporters of two chairman candidates in Kaiba Union Parishad (UP) polls at Sharsha Upazila in Jashore district on Saturday night, reports media.

Deceased Kutub Uddin, 35, was a supporter of Ikhtiar Rahman of 'Pineapple' seal. He was the son of Mohiuddin of Rudrapur village under the union.

The deceased's brother Shahabuddin said supporters of 'Boat' seal candidate attacked them as they have been working for 'Pineapple' seat. Six people, including himself and his brother, were injured in the incident.

The injured were taken to Jashore General Hospital where Kutub died on arrival, said on-duty doctor Shahriar Sabbir.
