Students have taken to the streets with red cards against the demand for safe roads, mismanagement of roads and corruption. According to the pre-announced program, 20-30 students of Khilgaon Model College are protesting with red card in Hatirjheel police station part of Rampura Bridge at 12:15 pm on Saturday.

Regarding the movement at that time, student Sohagi Samia said, "We are showing a red card to the state today against the looting and corruption that has taken place in the communication system and streets of the country." Just as a referee is shown a red card for a foul in a football match, so we are in the role of referee against corruption today. The student society of the country will never accept corruption in the land of Bengal. So we are showing the red card against all the looting and corruption associated with the road.

Earlier, the students announced that a 'red card' would be displayed in the Rampura Bridge area. However, they also said that the road will not be blocked due to HSC examination.

According to the pre-announced program, the students started agitation on Rampura Bridge in the capital around 11 am on Friday. After an hour and a half of agitation, the students left the road at around 12:30 pm announcing the new program.

At the end of the program, the students said that the 11-point demand including safe roads and half-pass fares for all students across the country should be implemented as soon as possible. The students will continue the movement till the demand is implemented.

HSC examination has started from last 2nd December. There are exams on Saturday. So they stood on the road from 12 noon on Saturday because of the test.

It may be mentioned that student Mainuddin was killed when a Green Anabil Paribahan bus hit him in Rampura area of the capital around 11:15 pm on Monday. Excited people blocked the road at night. At that time eight buses including the deadly bus were set on fire. Four more buses were vandalized.
