Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque said the coronavirus situation is currently now under control in the country. Therefore, the government is not thinking of imposing a new lockdown.

However, he urged those who are out of the country not to come to the country at this time. Stay where you are right now to keep your family and country safe.

He made the remarks after inspecting the Bangladesh Institute of Health Management (BIHM) under construction at Thana Road area of ​​Savar on Sunday (December 5).

The Minister said that new type of coronavirus Omicron is spreading in different countries of the world. However, due to the batter situation in Bangladesh, there is no plan to close the border with India at present.

Zahid Maleque said that preparations are being made to prevent Omicron, adding that an inter-ministerial meeting has been held on Omicron. Many decisions have been made there. Those who come to our country from Africa have to check 48 hours in advance. They have to stay in quarantine for 14 days in the country.
