Murad May Face Interrogation

The Detective Branch (DB) will interrogate the newly resigned State Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr Murad Hasan if necessary.

DB Joint Commissioner Harun-Ur-Rashid made the remarks in response to a question from reporters at the DB office on Tuesday (December 6).

Dr. Murad Hasan has spoken about the use of law enforcement agencies including intelligence agencies. Asked if it had been used for such purposes, he said, "I will not talk about any other force. Since he (Murad Hasan) mentioned DB. If necessary, we will interrogate him. '

Asked if the audio had spread from actor Emon's mobile, he said, "We are looking into the matter. We are still investigating. "

Asked if actor Emon and Mahiya Mahi would be questioned together if there was a formal complaint, the DB official said, "If anyone formally lodges a complaint, we will investigate and take action." If anything goes viral, our DB's cyber unit monitors and investigates. '

Asked if he would interrogate Mahi if she came to the country, he said, "Yes, we will interrogate Mahi too."

Asked if the rape had taken place after the phone call that day, he said, "We have not received any such allegation yet. We will talk to everyone if necessary. '

There is a complaint against the actor Emon. He uses actresses in different ways. He was also talking about taking them to the state minister. Asked if you will take any action against Emon, he said, "We will look into the matter only after receiving a formal complaint."

Recently, State Minister for Information Murad Hasan spoke rudely in an interview against BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, Acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman, and his daughter Jaima Rahman. Shortly afterward, an audio clip of the state minister Murad went viral, in which he used obscene language to ask actress Mahiya Mahi to meet him. On the phone, he told the actor Emon to grab Mahi by the neck and take her to him. As the matter spread through social media, various quarters demanded the punishment of Dr. Murad.

Later on Monday (December 6) night, Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader, in response to a question from reporters about Dr Murad Hasan, said, "I have talked to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina this evening and she has asked him to resign by tomorrow." I will deliver the message to him tonight at 8 o'clock. '

Meanwhile, Dr. Murad Hasan resigned and sent his resignation letter to his ministry citing personal reasons. He signed the resignation letter at 12:30 pm on Tuesday and sent it to the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. He is currently staying in Chittagong.
