The parliamentary
committee has recommended not to provide more than five SIMs against one
National Identity Card (NID).
The recommendation was
made at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on government institutions
held at the parliament building on Tuesday.
After the meeting, the
chairman of the parliamentary committee ASM Firoz informed the media.
He said the BTRC (Bangladesh
Telecommunication Regulatory Commission) has informed that they are currently
offering 15 SIM registration opportunities against one NID. With more and more
SIMs, there is an opportunity to abuse it. For this, we have instructed to
reduce this number to 5.
