It
is learned that Dr Murad Hasan, who lost the post of State Minister for
Information and Broadcasting due to his indecent and unethical remarks on social
media, is trying to leave the country.
He
booked a ticket to Canada on Thursday night (December 9). He bought a ticket on
Wednesday (December 8), according to the airline.
Though
at first, he was thinking of taking his family with him, that is not happening as other family members do not have visas.
According
to a source in the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the red passport
(special passport) that Murad had during his tenure as Minister of State was in
the possession of an Information Ministry official but he took it with him
through a personal assistant shortly before his resignation. Although he was
supposed to submit the red passport after resigning from the state ministry, he
did not submit it.
Murad
Hasan's mobile phone was contacted for comment but no response was received.
Meanwhile,
the process of taking legal action against Murad Hasan has started. Besides,
the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) has identified 387
links of Murad Hasan's obscene and vulgar remarks on social media including
online platforms.
Dr.
Murad signed his resignation letter to the Ministry of Information and
Broadcasting at 12:30 pm on Tuesday (December 6). Later at 3 pm, Mohammad Gias
Uddin, Public Relations Officer of the State Minister for Information,
submitted his resignation letter to the Cabinet Secretary's Office on his
behalf.
Murad
Hasan was relieved of the post of Health Secretary of Jamalpur District Awami
League.
