Poet Nirmalendu Gun has announced to go on hunger strike if Aspia does not get a job. Aspia Islam Kajal is not getting a job due to permanent address complexity even after passing all the stages of the recruitment test for the post of Trainee Recruit Constable (TRC) in Barisal. No action was taken even after meeting the Range DIG of the police. In the end, he had to return home empty-handed.

He made the announcement while commenting on a protest post on Facebook about not getting a job.

It says, ‘If you are landless, you can't get a job in the police--there is such a law, I didn't know that. Aspia from Barisal will not get a job as she is landless even though she is fifth on the merit list, it cannot happen. Can't be she should be given a job by repealing or amending this law? Otherwise, I will go on a hunger strike. '

Meanwhile, many have supported the announcement of Nirmalendu Guna going on a hunger strike. He even showed interest in fasting with her.

It is learned that Aspia Islam Kajal, daughter of late Shafiqul Islam, passed HSC in 2020 from Government Hijla Degree College, Hijla Upazila, Barisal. Aspia is living with her mother, three sisters, and one brother in Khunna-Gobindpur village of Aspia Barjangalia union as a shelter on the land of a local businessman. His elder brother works in a garment factory in Dhaka. And mother works in other people's houses.

On September 10, the police headquarters issued a recruitment notice for the post of Trainee Recruit Constable (TRC). In the notification, it was mentioned that 8 women and 41 men would be taken from the Barisal district for TRC posts.
