Woman Killed over Land Dispute in Kushtia

A 35-year-old woman was beaten to death allegedly by her brother-in-laws over land dispute at Gobargara in Doulatpur Upazila of Kushtia on Saturday, reports UNB.

The deceased was identified as Nazma Akter, wife of Gias Uddin of the village.

Quoting local people, SK Zabid Hasan, officer-in-charge of Doulatpur Police Station, said Gias Uddin locked into an altercation with his two younger brothers—Shaheen and Tuhin over the ownership of a piece of land.

At one stage, Shaheen and Tuhin beat Nazma with a bamboo mercilessly, leaving her dead on the spot.

On information, police recovered the body but could not arrest anyone as the two brothers went into hiding.
