Govt Launches 30-Day Drive on Illegal Fishing Net Use

The government has launched a special 30-day combing operation to stop the use of illegal fishing nets.

The Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock is conducting the drive in 17 districts to prevent all kinds of illegal fishing nets including 'Behundi' and current nets, a ministry release said here today.

The operations started on December 30 last, will continue in four phases till February 20, 2022. 

The 17 districts are Pirojpur, Jhalakathi, Patuakhali, Barguna, Bhola, Barishal, Noakhali, Bagerhat, Khulna, Satkhira, Cox's Bazar, Chattogram, Munshiganj, Laxmipur, Shariatpur, Madaripur, and Chandpur.
