Omicron

The
government has taken some decisions to combat the new type of coronavirus,
Omicron infection. Of these, public transport has been proposed to half of the
passengers in the seats and proposed to reduce open-time of shops and shopping
malls has been reduced.
Health
and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque told reporters at the secretariat on
Tuesday (January 4).
"We
have to stop the new type of coronavirus, Omicron," he said. That is why
some decisions are being taken. Vehicles cannot be operated without a mask.
Anyone traveling on buses, trains, and launches will be fined. A decision has
been made.
He
added that it has been proposed to halve the number of passengers in buses and
other vehicles. Must go to restaurants and hotels after the mask. If you go
without a mask, the shopkeeper will be fined, whoever goes can also be fined.
The
health minister said the deadline for keeping shops and markets open would be
reduced. Shops can be kept open till 8 pm instead of 10 pm. It has also been
proposed.
He
said that after 15 days, there was talk of implementation of these issues. That
has been told to the cabinet secretary. He has agreed to this.
He
also said that if the situation in Corona worsens, the government is thinking of a
lockdown.
Earlier
on Monday (January 3), the health minister sat in an emergency
inter-ministerial meeting at the secretariat on what to do to deal with
Omicron. However, no major decision has been made.
Responding
to a question from reporters after the meeting last night, the health minister
said that the situation of lockdown has not been created yet, therefore no
recommendation has been made.
