Dr Murad
Hasan, who lost the post of state minister for information and broadcasting,
has been accused of beating his wife.
Murad Hasan's
wife Dr Jahanara Ehsan called the National Emergency Service number 999 on
Thursday (January 6th) afternoon to seek police assistance. She said she was
being beaten. From there the complaint goes to Dhanmondi police station.
Dr. Jahanara
later filed a general diary (GD). Dhanmondi police sub-inspector (SI) Ansar Ali
told the media that he called Dr Murad's wife around 9:15 pm and informed her
about the beating by calling 999. After receiving the complaint, a team of
Dhanmondi Police Station went to Dr. Murad's house on 15th Road.

Zone Additional Commissioner of Police Ihsanul Ferdous said his wife had lodged
a GD with the police against Murad Hasan alleging intimidation.

Police Station OC Ikram Ali Mia also received a call from 999 and confirmed
that police would be sent to Murad Hasan's flat.
Earlier, Dr.
Murad Hasan lost his post due to his hateful, indecent and insulting remarks
against women.
