Covid: BD Logs 1 Death; New Cases 1146 in 24 Hrs

Bangladesh logged 1,146 new COVID-19 cases and one death in the last 24 hours. 

With this, the total infections stood at 15,91,093 and fatalities rose to 28,098, a health directorate press release said on Friday.

As many as 20,890 samples were collected, and 20,204 tested in the past day.

Bangladesh, however, first reported its coronavirus cases on March 8, 2020. 

The virus first emerged in the Chinese city of Wuhan in December 2019 and then it spread to other countries.

To date, the epidemic infected 301,006,863 people and killed 5,491,881 across the globe, according to Worldometer, a website that compiles the number of new coronavirus cases and deaths from it.

However, the total number of people who recovered from the virus reached 257,683,458 across the world.
