Jashore Newly Elected UP Member Shot Dead

Jashore's Abhaynagar Upazila newly-elected member Uttam Sarker, 30, was shot to death by unknown miscreants on Monday night, reports media.

A gang of miscreants attacked Uttam Sarker near Harishpur Government Primary School at about 8:15 pm while he was returning home.

They fired gunshots and fled the scene, leaving the member dead on the spot, said former Sundali Union Parishad chairman Bikash Chandra Mallik.

A tense situation is prevailing in the area after the incident.

Uttam Kumar was a newly-elected member of the Sundali union.
