'Decision Be Taken A Week After Whether to Extend Restrictions'

State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain has said that restrictions are being imposed on all offices, including the closure of educational institutions, to prevent coronavirus infection. It will be known in a week's time whether the restrictions will be extended further.

He told reporters at his office in the Secretariat on Monday (January 24).

The state minister said work has already started to implement the decision to run the office with half of the officers and employees, adding that since the decision was taken last night, it will take a day or two to fully implement it. Even before this, it was a practice to hold office with half the number. So this time there will be no problem in implementing this decision.

He said the government's main goal is to reduce the number of infections. Mobile courts continue to operate to ensure hygiene to people outside.

Asked by reporters if the ban could be lifted after February 6, Farhad Hossain said, "Of course, considering the situation." Because of our awareness, the variant Omicron we are seeing now is taking a while to recover. Recovery rate but very good. More than 85% of the affected people are able to take treatment from home and they are recovering.

He said, "We will definitely see in the next one week what stage it is at. We will give further instructions accordingly." ‘

"We will tell the public that you will abide by the rules of hygiene," he added. Everyone has to wear a mask. A date will be given that the mobile court will come down from tomorrow. So the mobile court will be conducted with prior warning.

The state minister said, "Our aim is to make everyone wear masks." Health experts say it will continue to rise by mid-February. Everyone needs to be aware. We want to get out of this third wave as soon as possible. That is why everyone has to deal with the third wave by following the hygiene rules.
