According to Transparency International (TI), Bangladesh ranks 13th out of 180 countries in the list of 'most corrupt' countries.

This information has come up in the ‘Corruption Perceptions Index (CPI)’ published by the Berlin-based anti-corruption organization in Germany. This information was given by Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB) in a virtual press conference on Tuesday (January 25) at 11 am.

Last time, Bangladesh was ranked 12th in this list. This time the position is 13th with one step improvement but the score is the same as last time, it is 26. In 2019, Bangladesh was ranked 14th in the lower order.

Considering the situation of 2021 in 180 countries and regions of the world, Bangladesh ranks 146th in the index (good to bad).

TIB executive director said that this position of Bangladesh is very disappointing. Iftekharuzzaman said the index was determined from the results of eight surveys in the case of Bangladesh.
