Schoolgirl Raped after Being Picked Up from Home in Lalmonirhat

Police have arrested two youths for allegedly raping a seventh-grade schoolgirl in Kaliganj Upazila of Lalmonirhat district.

On Tuesday (January 25) afternoon, the student's mother filed a case against the two at the police station.

The arrested are Ripon Mia, 28, son of Anju Mia of the Hororam area of ​​the Upazila, and Monir Uddin, 18, son of Ahmed Ali.

Police and locals said that last Sunday, Ripon Mia and Monir Uddin found the schoolgirl alone at home and forcibly picked her up and raped her in an abandoned house next door. The people of the house searched a lot but did not find her that night. The next morning, they left the schoolgirl on the bank of Sati River and fled. She was later rescued and admitted to the hospital.

Kaliganj Police Station OC Golam Rasul said that after receiving the complaint, the two accused were quickly arrested in the case.
