The government has again decreased the age limit to 40 for the booster dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, reports media.

"From now on, people aged 40 and above will be able to get a booster dose of Covid-19 vaccine," Health Minister Zahid Maleque said at a press conference at the Bangladesh College of Physicians and Surgeons in Dhaka on Sunday.

So far, 97 million people have received the first dose and 60 million of them have received the second dose.

"We have expanded the vaccine coverage up to ward level. But many are still not getting jabbed," the minister said.

The minister warned saying that the real number of infections is much higher than detected.

Maleque has also added that children who are above 12-year old will be given the Covid-19 vaccine from now.
