4 Instructions to Run Secretariat Smoothly

The Public Security Division of the Home Ministry has given instructions to ensure smooth functioning of the secretariat. A letter has been sent to the senior secretaries/secretaries of all the ministries and departments on January 24 giving four instructions.

The letter, signed by Mohammad Firoz Uddin Khalifa, Deputy Secretary, Department of Public Security, states that the Bangladesh Secretariat is the highest administrative center in the country and a highly protected important facility. There are 11 big and small buildings and six canteens on only 17.53 acres of land.

It further said that about 20 to 25 thousand people including important persons, officials/employees, members attending various meetings and visitors enter the secretariat every day and 4 to 6 thousand vehicles enter the secretariat. Therefore, the government has given four instructions to ensure the smooth functioning of the secretariat.

The instructions are:

  1. No arches/stands, banners, posters, festoons, leaflets, can be placed/pasted/hung on the walls of various buildings around and inside the front of the Secretariat.
  2. All Deputy Secretaries working in the Secretariat and microbuses of different Ministries / Departments should be parked in the open space / designated Islamic Foundation parking lot. By no means will he be in the Secretariat.
  3. Protection vehicles will not enter the Secretariat under any circumstances. There will be parking on the east side outside the Secretariat. No car without a sticker will enter the Secretariat.
  4. No rickshaws/vans will run on the front of the Secretariat i.e. Abdul Gani Road.

In this case, all concerned are requested to follow the instructions mentioned in the letter.
