59 Held in Anti-Drug Drives in City

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in anti-drugs drives have detained 59 people along with drugs from different areas of Dhaka city, reports media.

DMP additional deputy commissioner (media and public relations) Hafiz Al Asad said police conducted anti-drugs drives in different areas of the city in the last 24 hours till Tuesday morning and arrested them for consuming and selling drugs.

During the drive, 3,978 Yaba tablets, 735 grams of heroin, 14.28 kilograms of hemp, and 15 liters of liquor were recovered from their possessions.

A total of 47 cases were filed with the police stations concerned under the Narcotics Control Act, he added.
