Newly Appointed CEC for Inclusive Election

Former Senior Secretary Kazi Habibul Awal has been appointed as the new Chief Election Commissioner (CEC). He spoke to the media after the notification was issued on Saturday (February 26).

The CEC said the big challenge facing the new Election Commission is to bring other political parties, including the BNP, to the polls. To make the election Inclusive, the newly formed election commission will try to bring parties like BNP to the polls. We will try to gain everyone's trust. He made the remarks in a brief response to his appointment as Chief Election Commissioner at Walsow Tower, his residence in Bangla Motor.

He said another thing to keep in mind is that the Election Commission does not conduct elections alone. There are many stakeholders.

If everyone cooperates, if the political environment is favorable then our success will come. The newly appointed CEC sought the cooperation of the media in discharging his duties. Responding to a question on the challenges facing the commission, he said life is a challenge. We have to face the challenge and move forward.
