Road Crashes Kill 4 in Brahmanbaria, Madaripur

At least four people were killed and two others sustained injuries in separate road accidents in Brahmanbaria and Madaripur districts on Monday morning, reports media.

In Brahmanbaria, two people were killed and two others injured after a truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw in Tantar area under Akhaura Upazila of Brahmanbaria.

The deceased were identified as Awal Miah, 50, son of Yakub Ali, and Foyej Ali, 55, son of Hekim Bepari, both hailing from Moheshpur village in Nabinagar Upazila.

The truck hit the rickshaw while the victims were returning home after attending ‘Oros’ in Taragona, leaving the duo dead on the spot and two others injured, said Md Mizanur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Akhaura Police Station.

In Madaripur, a woman and her minor daughter were killed after being hit by a truck on Jaduyarchar area of Madaripur's Shibchar Upazila.

The deceased were identified as Jesmin Begum, 35, and her 7-year-old daughter Mahfuja.

Miraj Hossain, officer-in-charge (OC) of Shibchar Police Station, confirmed the matter.
