The local jewellery makers' body has raised gold prices by Tk 1,023 to Tk 79,288 per bhori in the local market due to the price hike of the precious metal in the global market, reports media.
Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (Bajus) took the decision and it said the new price will come into effect immediately, according to a press release on Tuesday.
As per the new price, the price of 22-carat gold per gram will be Tk 6,800, 21-carat Tk 6,490 and 18-carat Tk 5,570.
However, the Samity has kept the prices of silver unchanged.
The price of 22-carat silver per gram is now Tk 130 while 21-carat Tk 123 and 18-carat Tk 105.
